The Ribbon Knit capsule

Lili Curia presents its High Summer Ribbon Knit capsule, a collection shaped by material, movement, and the relationship between design and environment.

Shot in Cape Town at Die Es — the self-built home of architect Gawie Fagan and his wife Gwen — the campaign unfolds within a space designed to move with the rhythm of the day. Meaning “the hearth”, Die Es sits between mountain and sea, its structure opening and closing through large sliding doors and shifting planes that blur the line between inside and outside.

Dies Es House

Built almost entirely by hand, the house carries imprints of personality and memory. Wooden slats mirror the surrounding mountains, stone floors were laid by Gwen herself, and hanging chairs glide along ceiling rails to follow the path of the sun. Light filters through the garage structure, casting shifting shadows that echo the open grid of the knit.

Gwen, a landscape designer and devoted collector, has filled the house with objects, alongside her collection of rose books. The space feels personal and lived-in, shaped over time rather than arranged.

Photographer Johno Mellish, a friend of the Fagan family, captures the cast with a natural ease. The girls move through the house as if they belong there — reading among shelves of books, resting beneath the curved wooden ceiling, climbing the library ladder, or drifting between rooms and terraces as the light shifts. The house is never staged, only inhabited.

Within this setting, the Ribbon Knit pieces introduce a softer, more fluid expression of Lili Curia’s language. Ribbons thread through the knit and fall into small bows bringing a sense of looseness and movement to each silhouette.

A new category is introduced through a Ribbon Knit tote, designed in matching tones to the footwear. Light, practical, and easy to carry, it extends the collection’s sense of ease.

Across boat shoes, sandals, and sneakers, familiar silhouettes are reworked through the open-knit material. There is a balance between something romantic and something grounded — a softness held within structure. Like the house itself, the collection is designed to adapt, to move between spaces, and to be lived in.
